Arm cover sets, arm covers and chair backs or antimacassars are small cloths placed over the backs or arms of chairs. They can also be for the head or cushions of a sofa, to prevent soiling of the permanent fabric underneath. The name also refers to the cloth flap ‘collar’ on a sailor’s shirt to keep macassar oil off the uniform.

Arm cover sets have two purposes. The main one being they can extend the life of your chair or settee. This is done by protecting the fabric against hair products when leaning against the back or marks on the chair arms by constant touching when getting in or out of your chair. Secondly they look nice as well.

A second set maybe a good idea so when one is being washed you have a replacement. We have fabrics such as Chenille and tapestry and easy care poly cottons. There is also a crochet lace in white.
